On July 20, 2024, the International Workshop on “Diseño y ejecución de experimentos con técnicas experimentales online y offline” was held at the Universidad de Chile, in collaboration with the Heidelberg Center Latin America (HCLA). The workshop was held by Mathis Teucher.

From July 15 to July 19, 2024, Mathis Teucher, together with Master’s student Olga Nyrkova, conducted an eye-tracking experiment in Salamanca in collaboration with the Centro Internacional del Español (CIE). The experiment focused on the cognitive processing of encapsulations.

On June 20, the results of the eye-tracking study on “The processing of pragmatically marked utterances in speakers with sickle cell disease” were presented at the VII International Conference on Clinical Linguistics (CILC2024). The project was conducted by HCIAS researchers Adriana Cruz & Mathis Teucher and PhD student Linier Escobar from the University of Panama.

From June 17 to June 27, 2024, the International PhD-Workshop on “Diseño y ejecución de experimentos con técnicas experimentales online y offline” took place at the Universidad de Cádiz, held by Mathis Teucher and Prof. Dr. Óscar Loureda.

From the 16 to the 18 of May, HCIAS PhD student Celia Hernández Pérez participated in the 37th Annual Conference on Human Sentence Processing held at the University of Michigan with the presentation of the poster “The processing of anaphoric encapsulation versus coreference in Spanish: An experimental approach with eye-tracking”.
